October Tides

This is my younger dog called Jenny wading into the river for sweet cold water. There is a strange calm in the air and a feeling of the cooling down of the air and the fields as we wait for winter.

We have just got home from a week at Literary Dundee - a city that is exploding with new energies and creativity right now. The new V&A is being built l and it will be looking over the Tay River, in a redesigned waterfront and civic green space.

I was creating a text and image workshop with my sister Kirsty Gunn, called Colour Work, on the first day of the festival. Now I am home to continue a different kind of colour work, which is to carefully observe the changing season in all its hues and tempers, and to let it feel its way into my new ceramic pieces.
